Hey guys, I'm returning to work this week.
I'm returning to my very own little bunker in the middle of women's clothing, to the endless sea of boxes underground. In just a few days, D is going to go to the daycare for the very first time. A hell lot of changes going on in our household. And I'm absolutely shitting myself.
I've been secretly joking about how I would love to be at work already, to have some human interaction. But at the same time, I've developed myself this insane fear of people. There will be new people around me at work. A bunch of people I used to work with before my maternity leave won't be there anymore, they've moved on with their lives.

Things, like learning a new morning routine, figuring out which bus takes me to work from the middle of nowhere where we're apparently living, the fact that I'm going to have to pay twice the amount I used to pay for a monthly bus ticket - they feel so insanely overwhelming.

I'm off to wash my work clothes now, work clothes that are a bit broken and way too big for me but all I have. Wish me luck, I'll update you how it all went!

Have you returned to work after a long break? How did you feel? Was it different?

  1. Best of luck with it! I know it likely feels daunting at the moment but soon it will be your new routine! You got this!! :) Charlie xo

  2. Good luck, Jasmin! You'll be back in the swing of things in no time!! <3 And just think how wonderful it will be to give D a big squeeze when you're done with work for the day. xoxo

I completely understand! I recently returned from a whirlwind vacation in Italy and it's been a bit tough transitioning back. You've got this!

  4. It definitely can be overwhelming when there are lots of changes happening at once, but you've got this. I'm sure that after a few days you'll feel like you never left (not sure if that's a good or bad thing haha!). Wishing you lots of luck for your return!

  5. I hope it all went well. I'm grateful to be a stay at home and work from home too. In any case, soon you'll be so used to this new routine and the new peeps at work! Stay open and embrace life's changes.

  6. Good luck Jasmine, I'm sure you'll get back into the swing of everything in no time :)
