MIDSUMMER CELEBRATIONS

I took my family to my favourite place, also known as a forest. I also forced them to wear white clothing. I had a camera stand with me, and a friend who was behind the camera and we managed to create some wonderful pictures of the three of us.

On Friday, was the Midsummer Eve here in Finland and it's something we Finns truly cherish and celebrate. Most of us head out to the cottage (I'm dead serious with this; if you come to Helsinki at the time of the Midsummer only human activity you'll see in the city is a group of Chinese tourists), take a few cold ones, enjoy the lake scenery skinny dipping and light up a bonfire that lasts through the nightless night.

I really loved the outcome of this little photoshoot we had. Some memories to cherish from D's second Midsummer.
Do you celebrate Midsummer?

  4. I love the series of pictures that came from this photoshoot so much! I've really enjoyed learning about different Midsummer traditions from the various bloggers and Instagrammers I follow. Many of these traditions I'd never heard of before. It just goes to show how small the world has become thanks to the online community. I'm so grateful for everything I've been able to learn about other cultures and customs just by reading a few blogs. It's truly amazing!
