OCTOBER VIA INSTAGRAM

I'd like to begin this post by telling you that I'm not dead. I'm rather busy and now that the Father's Day weekend is creeping up on me I'm busy and anxious. *Insert here a massive amount of time spent trying to find a blog post about Father's Day you've written but you didn't find it so you can't link it*. However, while I've been running around Helsinki shooting pictures of different people in different media companies for our customer project, been at work-work, you know the one I get paid for and suffered through a flu last month has been exceptionally productive.

TICK TOCK, THE TIME IS UP

Since the IPCC released its latest report on how fucked we all are, I haven't been able not to think about how I'd survive to live in a country, where it wouldn't snow anymore. If you haven't figured it out yet, the climate change is a real thing. If you still aren't buying it, hop in a lake. I mean seriously. The time has come and it's our responsibility to fix it if we want this little planet of ours to get better.

PRACTISING MY PHOTOGRAPHY

My little Autumn vacay is coming to its end today and even though it didn't last longer than a couple of days, I'm ready to go back to work already. Ask me again in six weeks how am I feeling about this okay? The next six weeks will be crazy busy with work, with uni (we started our first customer project last week, eek!) and life in general driving around Finland again in different family parties.

SUNSETS AND THOUGHTS | YYTERI, PORI, FINLAND

Screw the schedules. Screw the consistency, eh?
We have been spending a weekend at my mum's in the Western-Finland and it has been exactly what I've needed after these past few months. The thing is, even though I don't consider my current lifestyle exhausting - it is still taking its toll on me. As I am the kind of a person who enjoys being put, enjoys being in a moment and enjoys the days when the calendar looks empty.

JUGGLING WITH STUDIES, WORK, BLOGGING & BEING A MUM

I've gotten so many questions about how I've been holding up with the hectic day-to-day routine I've had the past month and a half so I decided to open up a bit what I've learned during this time. The truth is, it's been hard and it's been easier than I thought it would have been. It's an odd way to see this, don't you think? The thing is, there are so many things I've had to let go, so many compromises I've had to make and so many things I've needed to do even though I haven't felt like doing so.

10 SIMPLE ACTS OF KINDNESS TO EASILY DO EACH DAY

Today, I decided to list 10 simple acts of kindness to easily do each day. It doesn't take your time, it isn't out of your pocket and I believe we all could do with some positive vibes in today's world. And once again, I'm going to challenge you. Try these once in a while & see what happens!

SEPTEMBER VIA INSTAGRAM

If I had one word to describe my own Instagram activity in September it would definitely be unmotivated. I didn't have any motivation at all to post, engage or even scroll through the feed. For me, personally, it's a good thing as it means I'm not as addicted to it as I thought I was but for my social media presence, it was a very, very bad thing to do. I can imagine why it's so easy to fall for the bots!

POSTCARDS FROM TALLIN, ESTONIA

Last Sunday, we had this extempore idea to hop on a ship and head to Tallinn, Estonia. It's only a two-hour ship ride away and even though I might have mentioned a few times after travelling by ship and not doing it in a while last summer, it was actually my idea. It was pretty cheap too, 20€ there and back from all three of us together. It was actually pretty refreshing to get out of Helsinki once in a while. With my busy schedule, there hasn't been much time for travelling, unfortunately. Luckily, we've got a few trips planned for 2019 and I cannot wait.

BLOGGING GOALS | OCTOBER 2018

Can you believe that this year is over in three months? As I sure as hell can't believe it. Time has been flying so fast it's insane. And here we are again, time to share some goals for the month for myself. Oh, my goodness feels like I've written out these posts once a week!

SUMMER 2018 IN A NUTSHELL

If anything, summer 2018 went by in a blink of an eye. Feels like it was yesterday since it was May and now it's suddenly the end of September. It's literally 12 Mondays until the Christmas Eve, let that sink in.
While we're letting it sink in, let's have a look back to our summer 2018!

I AM NOT JUST A MUM

If I'm not just a mum, what else am I then?

3 THINGS I’VE LEARNED AFTER ONE MONTH IN UNI

What's up guys and gals!? It's official now, I've been a uni student for a full month now. And oh boy, it's been a journey. Either way, you know how I like to turn some of the experiences in my life to positive learning experiences (like I did with my entrance exam and stress back in June), this one will be one of those too. So here's to one month in uni and 47 more. Or well, 43 if you don't count summer vacation.

POSTCARDS FROM PORVOO, FINLAND

Back in July, July 25th to be exact, we ventured to the Old Town of Porvoo. It was such a warm day, over 30°C degrees - I honestly can't remember the time it's been this hot during the Summer. Now that we're turning into Autumn, slowly and steady I feel like I'm actually able to breathe again.

OUR BATHROOM | BEFORE AND AFTER

I have been waiting for ages to be able to write this post, as our bathroom is something we haven't gone through over at the blog yet. There's a simple reason for that, as well; because we saved it for the last as there wasn't going to be any major changes. Though I would like to change the floor over there, it's a hell of a work! And especially facing the possible plumbing work there will be done (we don't know when or where, or even at all but there is a possibility for that) it would be stupid to go and make some major changes there at this point.

A DAY IN MY LIFE | 300818

Nothing very specific or extreme happened on Thursday the 30th of August. I just felt like it would be lovely to give some variation to my days. To help you to understand my day-to-day life a bit better. Although, this is not like any other day I'd have.

OUR 5-YEAR TRAVEL BUCKET LIST

We've been doing some plans, but as you know plans can change so don't feel like expecting all of these to happen. That's why it's called "bucket list". Either way, we've been thinking about our travels for the next five years and while there are big trips like the Maldives on the list, there are also some smaller ones we want to do. So let's roll to our 5-year travel bucket list.

10 THINGS THAT I’M GRATEFUL AT THE MOMENT

It's been ages since I listed out things I've been grateful for, so I thought it would be about the time for that already! Especially with this new hectic day-to-day routine of mine, it's very important to stop and think what is in my life that I am grateful for. As usual, I'm challenging you to think about things you're grateful for and if you want, you can list some of them on the comment box down below. When is the last time you stopped to think about what you're grateful for?

5 SERIES YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WATCH | NETFLIX

It's been ages since my last post where I share some series I've been watching on Netflix, so it was about the time I shared my latest obsessions with you guys. I haven't had much time to watch anything lately (thanks to school & work combo), but here are some I've recently finished.

A DAY IN MY LIFE | 230818

You might remember me telling you how long my days are going to be when I start at uni? Well, today I am going to share with you how my usual day goes. Actually, how my usual uni+work combo day goes. About two or three days of my normal week does look like this one I'm about to show you, so next time you're asking why I'm not tweeting as much as I usually do, here's why.

HOW TO SPEND 4 HOURS IN A SHIP WITH A TODDLER? | TALLINK SILJA

On our way to Åland Islands, we were hit by the fact that we're actually in a ship with a toddler. Which meant that he's old enough to actually want to do something onboard. Last time we were on the ship with D, he was five months old and we were on our way to Sweden. So prepare yourselves, here's our guide to surviving a ship trip with a toddler.

3 WAYS TO GET RID OF SELF-DOUBT

I'm the worst at self-doubting myself. I mean, the worst. I tend to overthink multiple things, go through all the what if's in life and I used to doubt my own actions and sayings just because I was worried about what everyone else thought of me. I used to think that I'm not good enough and people wouldn't accept me the way I am unless I changed myself. Does this ring the bell for you? Good. As I'm here today sharing how you can get rid of the self-doubt. It's not going to be easy, it's going to take some time but trust me; it'll be worth it.

AUGUST VIA INSTAGRAM

It's that time of the month again! What do I mean? The Instagram round-up of course.
I cannot believe it's officially the knit season, also known as Autumn. Where did the summer go? Either way, let's look back to our August via my Instagram feed. August was one of the months I grew my account the most (at its highest it was in 1999) and it was at its lowest by the end of the month (1888). So yeah, follow unfollow game going on much?

10 THINGS TO DO IN ÅLAND, FINLAND WITH A TODDLER

Travelling with a toddler is challenging and ridiculously fun at the same time. Also, it's amazing to see how they seem to fall in love with everything they see. If you're travelling with your toddler, you might also be interested in my post about "10 things to do in Tromso, Norway with a toddler" as now I'm about to share with you 10 things you can do with your toddler in Åland Islands, Finland. As a side note, we didn't have time to visit in all these places but some of them are what different websites recommend and where we would have wanted to visit if we had enough time. Until next time right?

BLOGGING GOALS | SEPTEMBER 2018

PHEW, what a month last month was! I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that I'll be having multiple different projects going on for the next four years. And yeah, I like to detach myself from the things by calling them projects. And while alongside the projects there will become a big responsibility, in the projects it's good to know that I am able to take a break if needed. Either way, it's the time of the month again, it's the Blogging Goals time!

1,5 YEARS | DINO

My baby is halfway on becoming a two-year-old and holy cow he's been growing up fast since the last update. I'm glad I'm still keeping up with these updates via my blog as I really love to go back and see what he was up to in the past. So much has changed, last year he was only a 6-month-old just learned to turn and now he's growing his vocabulary and running from place A to B. What's the rush little one?

WHY WE LOVE STAYING IN AIRBNB’S?

During our travels, we've stayed three times (so far) in Airbnb's. When we went to Tromso, we stayed for the few nights on the road in the halfway, at Oulu, Finland. It wasn't the most luxurious stay but you'll figure out why we chose it in this blog post. The Airbnb in Tromso, Norway we stayed in had such an amazing Nordic/Scandinavian touch in it. It was an absolute heaven. And we really enjoyed our Airbnb in Mariehamn, Åland as well. Why we've been more into Airbnb's instead of hotels? And especially with a child?

DO WE ENCOURAGE THE PEOPLE AROUND US ENOUGH?

I'm sat here on our balcony at the moment, thinking about a bunch of stuff. As I am writing this on the last days of my maternity leave (yeah, I don't usually have time to sunbathe on our balcony) and by the time this post goes live I'm already back at work. Either way, I thought a lot about one simple question; "do we encourage the people around us enough?" And mainly, "how long can you keep encouraging people without receiving anything back?". These are the main questions I am writing about to you today.

HOW D IS HOLDING UP IN THE DAYCARE

I can't believe D's been in the daycare for three full weeks now. The transition into his new routines went surprisingly well, especially after we changed his routine at home a few weeks before he went in. You can read all about how we changed the routine for him of my post called "Our top tips for preparing your toddler in the daycare". So how D's been doing out there?

UTSIKTSCAFÉ UFFE PÅ BERGET | ÅLAND, FINLAND

I absolutely love it when I've got my cup of coffee in the morning. And what makes the feeling extra special, is when I have my cup of coffee in the morning and in a place with an amazing view. Let's talk about that, shall we?

3 THINGS TO DO EACH MORNING TO ACHIEVE A POSITIVE DAY

Being positive is something I've been struggling with lately, especially now after returning to work. I've been pretty close to falling onto my old habits at work, like heading on the roof and smoking a lot (it's pretty exhausting, the job I am in, not physically, and not even emotionally but in some way it feels already that it's slowly draining me) until I remember that they turned the employees smoking area to a freaking restaurant while I was away. So yes, positive thoughts are something I've been trying to hold on to and here I am, sharing three things you can do each morning to (try) achieve a positive day!

HOW IT FEELS TO BE BACK AT WORK?

It's been so weird during these past weeks I've been back to work. So much has changed and still, nothing has changed. It's an odd feeling. So how does it feel to be back at work after being away for almost one year and eight months?

KASTELHOLM CASTLE | ÅLAND, FINLAND

I must admit, we missed around half of the things I wanted to see in Åland when we visited there last month but to be fair to ourselves, we had only two full days out there so obviously the island needs a second check-up! Though, we didn't miss the Kastelholm Castle, which was right under my top attractions in Åland as a second, after the Taffel chips factory of course.

10 DIFFERENT WAYS TO FEEL CLOSER TO NATURE*

During the days like these, we tend to rush off from a place to another. During the days like these, we tend to forget the bond we have with nature. And how can we feel closer to nature in today's society? Let me share my 10 favourite things to do when I feel lost of touch!

3 SIMPLE ACTS OF KINDNESS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Kindness is such a funny thing, isn't it? It's completely free of charge and yet it's something most of us (me, myself and I included) sometimes forget. Being kind to someone definitely isn't out of your pocket and being genuinely kind towards others will definitely make your journey to your destination feel so much better. So here I am, sharing 3 simple acts of kindness on Social Media. They don't take much time, but they're very effective. Are you up for a challenge?

ZUCCHINI PANCAKES | QUICK, HEALTHY & TODDLER APPROVED

Today, I'm going to share with you D's ultimate favourite lunch recipe with you guys so you can try and see if your toddler (or yourself) enjoy these too! If you're doing the grown-ups version of it, you might want to add some salt and chilli in the mix, as toddlers are on a strict no salt mode for the first years of their lives so obviously I've left the salt out. But yeah, if this recipe says there's no salt, it's because of that. I'm not saying you cannot use salt. Got it? Good, let's get to the recipe.

HOW TO MAKE GOALS & ACHIEVE THEM?

Goals, those funny little things. Everyone has them, but not all necessarily achieve them. There are also dreams, but turning dreams into actual goals takes a lot of gut and commitment. Are you ready to change your dreams into goals and when the time is right, achieve them? Here's how I'm setting goals and actually achieving them, and I really hope you'll find this helpful so you can turn your dreams into goals and achieve them.

THE RUINS OF BOMARSUND | ÅLAND, FINLAND

While we visited in Åland, we went to see the ruins of Bomarsund. The fortress of Bomarsund was built back in the 1832 and it was finished in 1854. It was one of the largest building projects of Åland, and it was calculated for 5000 men. It's a pretty effin' huge, considering that the population of the whole islands is 29,5 thousand people, of which almost 12 thousand are living in the capital of Åland, Mariehamn.

JULY VIA INSTAGRAM

Well hello there, August. It's ridiculous how fast the time seems to be flying when you've just spent your Summer travelling around and doing yoga at the same time. If something, I've learned to live in the moment this Summer. I guess that's a great thing to learn if something.
Once again, it's time for a little Instagram round-up! (Okay, who am I trying to fool? It's going to be a huge one as I posted a shitload of pictures last month.

OUR TOP TIPS TO PREPARING YOUR TODDLER FOR THE DAYCARE

As you might know, D started in the daycare on the first of August and today actually, is my very first day at work after the maternity leave. Either way, we wanted to make the transition from a routine to another a bit smoother. As a small human being, going to the daycare is a HUGE change. Even if some kids don't show it outside, it's a big deal to them. So today, I am going to share our tips on preparing your toddler for the daycare, and how we tried our very best to make the transition go smoother.

BLOGGING GOALS | AUGUST 2018

Well hello there, August! Today is the day for many things. Today is the day when I kick off the end of my maternity leave by having two days off from work (which is pretty much my only "alone" vacation I'll have this year) and I'm back at work on Friday. Today is also the first day of the very month, that I'll turn a new page on my life. I'm going to be a student. So while I'm being a mum, a student and working for part-time - you can imagine blogging is something that might have to step aside for a while. Oh well, it won't be as high on my priorities for a while.

FEELINGS ABOUT RETURNING TO WORK THIS WEEK

Hey guys, I'm returning to work this week.
I'm returning to my very own little bunker in the middle of women's clothing, to the endless sea of boxes underground. In just a few days, D is going to go to the daycare for the very first time. A hell lot of changes going on in our household. And I'm absolutely shitting myself.

PINEAPPLE PUNCH | SUNDAY SMOOTHIE

The time has come - the time of the last summer Sunday smoothie recipe over here! Have you been enjoying this series? I really hope you have. I'm already brainstorming ideas for the next summer so please let me know in the comments which kind of summer recipes you would like to see during summer 2019!

SAILOR VIBES IN THE AIRBNB IN MARIEHAMN | ÅLAND, FINLAND

For our most recent trip, we decided that instead of a hotel we're staying in Airbnb. Just like we did on our way to Tromso in Oulu and during our visit to Tromso. I really want to show D some diversity in a way different people from different cultures are living and Airbnb is simply the perfect way to do so!

DAYCARE CALLING | A LETTER TO MY SON

My dear, sweet little potato.
Your time to begin in the daycare has arrived. Next week, you're going to meet with your new friends and I really do hope, with all my heart that everything goes well. I'm sure everything will go well, but you know - mum likes to worry about stuff.

POSTCARDS FROM LINNANMÄKI AMUSEMENT PARK | HELSINKI, FINLAND

My brother spent a week with us here in Helsinki in June so obviously, we did a little trip to the Linnanmäki amusement park. I'm not the kind of a person who is that into amusement parks. Don't get me wrong, I do love the adrenaline and the atmosphere and everything; but it takes me a while to get into the mood after the arrival. So while my brother and J got themselves day tickets, I got myself a ticket to one roller coaster ride.

SWEETNESS IN A MUG | SUNDAY SMOOTHIE

The hot weather is a tricky thing, isn't it? You're not feeling hungry, yet you are hungry but the thought of warm food makes you feel nauseous. Or that's how my body is dealing with the heat. That's when all those sweets are coming to the picture. But what if you could satisfy the need of sweets with actually something healthy? Oh, it's your lucky day as today I am sharing a smoothie recipe with you which is healthy and sweet!

POSTCARDS FROM ÅLAND, FINLAND

So, after doubting (for a bit too long) and thinking (for a bit too long, too) where we are off to as a family this summer we finally figured out the final destination. It was definitely too late to book a vacation in Greece (with a decent price at least) and it was too late to find a getaway in Europe such a short notice. They say, travelling in your homeland is the thing! They aren't? Oh well, that's what we did.

AM I ACTUALLY FALLING IN LOVE WITH SANDALS?

I've never been a wearing sandals kind of a girl, but when I was scrolling through H&M website trying to find shorts for D (how is it still summer, by the way?) my eyes caught these sandals. Yeah, I know right!? Women's sandals on the kid's section... Or wait a minute, did I scroll the women's section? That must've happened. Of course, by accident.

CLARION HOTEL SIGN | STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

Is there a possibility that we've stayed in multiple Clarion Hotels because we trust to get excellent service from there? Yes, there is. However, most of the rules come with an exception and Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm, Sweden was one of them.
So if you're looking for a stay in the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm, choose Clarion Hotel Stockholm in Södermalm, which I mentioned in the 2017 summer's post about Stockholm.

BERRY BLAST SMOOTHIE | SUNDAY SMOOTHIE

It's time for another Sunday Smoothie recipe! How do you feel, have you been enjoying these so far? I'm already trying to figure out what kind of a theme I'd have for next summer. Though, when it comes to smoothies basically the sky is your limit. You can combine anything with anything and it's super easy and quick, yet healthy way to start your day.
