FJELLHEISEN | TROMSØ, NORWAY

GUYS, we did something so freaking cool! We went on top of a mountain. We didn't climb there on our own, although that's something I've planned to do one day as this wasn't sure as hell the only time we'll visit in Tromso. A mountain we went, is called Storsteinen and it's 421m above the sea level. I can tell you, the view was pretty damn amazing.

We took a cable car up!
It was my first time in a cable car and I did make sure I asked all the questions there is possible to ask how those cable cars work, is it possible that they can fall down and what if something happens. Does the wind effect in the way it's going up?
So, the cable car runs every half an hour and it costs NOK190 (~20€) per person to go up and down.
It was pretty windy when we reached the top and that made me a bit scared, as the cable car was waving a bit but everything was fine and we ended up and down safely.

The view from there was absolutely stunning. You can see the whole island of Tromso from above and oh boy it was gorgeous. And a huge plus is that there was snow up there so I got to see some snow even though the summer has already arrived in the Southern parts of Fennoscandia.

When all you packed was Winter clothes...
You know, going to Northern-Norway you would imagine it's pretty cold out there this time of the year, right? Well, the Gulf stream was on our side and we had such amazing +18°C to +22°C sunny weather throughout our trip. The forecast promised rain and cold for the whole week a day before we left home so all we packed was warm clothing with us. It's surprising that we actually caught some tan while we were up there.

It was pretty windy on the top, so D's outfit was absolutely perfect for the occasion. I had just bought him a proper windproof outerwear which isn't too warm but it does keep the wind. For us adults, we had our Winter jackets and goddamn we almost melted up there.
You would think it's cold on top of a mountain, right? Yeah, it wasn't.

It was such an amazing experience for sure and I really do hope I can climb that up one day.

  1. Tromso looks stunning! I have only ever climbed Snowdonia which is in Wales so not the tallest mountain but it was definitely a challenge as it's so steep! I really want to visit Norway one day, so I shall have to add Tromso to my list of things to do 🌺

  3. Your photos are out of this world incredible. You could honestly sell these. That looks like an incredible experience; I went to the top of a mountain when I went skiing in france and it really is something else. One of the ski lifts we used was a cable car, because it was taking us up to one of the highest points and it's quite daunting!

I desperately want to visit Finland one day!
