D HAD HIS FIRST FEVER

I've been dreading this moment, dreading the moment when my gorgeous happy baby, excuse me, toddler boy will get his first fever. I don't know why, but the combination of small children and fever is something that makes me personally uncomfortable. They cannot speak so they can't tell you what they want, what they need and how they are feeling. I guess that's what creeps me out the most.
D also refuses to eat each time he's feeling poorly so at the same time I was offering him water or milk to drink (which was 24/7, better be too cautious than not at all) I was in a constant worry if he was getting enough food in his system. But hey, let's cut the crap - I know I hardly eat when I'm ill, so in what scenario D would have any appetite in his 38,5°C degree fever any more than I would have in that situation?

So, D had his first fever and we survived.
Not again for a while, please? Although, I loved those cuddles he gave me. He's been all about daddy the past weeks and now he wanted mummy & I enjoyed my every second as a mum pillow.
But hey, D survived without a fever for over a year so I guess we've done something right!

    1. Yeah you have to make them drink! As much as possible. It's dangerous if they dry during the fever.

  4. I'd say you are doing quite well to have made it that long! But I can't imagine how heartbreaking it must be to see your little one in pain. Sending healing vibes for D and Mum!

  5. Aw! Poor thing! It is nice when they are snugly, though! Praying you don't have to experience that again for awhile!
