THE AVOCADO PROJECT #1

HEY-OO, I've officially crossed the line where I'm a few minutes away from losing my shit because I took a seed from an actual avocado and I'm currently rooting it. Someone, send help - NOW. ASAP.
But on a more serious note, I'm on a hunt for a lovely plant to repair our lack of having anything green and alive in this apartment. We have that one tree looking plant from Ikea, and I'm pretty concerned it's not dead yet (as I'm pretty good at killing plants, you'll know if you've been following me on my social media / been my friend for years. I JUST CAN'T KEEP THEM ALIVE.)

So how did I end up with avocado? It's not like I can plant a citrus tree in my backyard. Though, if I can cut it & keep on a decent height I could actually plant one to our balcony. Though, Winter could be a bit too rough for it. I'm going to have to look into that. So, without a further ado, I ended up with avocado.

Currently, my avocado seed is rooting in a water glass. I don't know, I feel like we should definitely give a name to it? Is it he or she? Who could it look like? Send me your name suggestions in the comments below!

  2. Rooting an avocado? That's new to me! I hope that guy will root, grow and stay alive :) I'm horrible with plants but maybe I could try to plant some herbs, those are like the only green thing that doesn't die near me lol!

  10. I have never been able to keep any plants alive, I've even killed cacti. Doesn't spell good things for my cats, does it? :-(

  11. When I was growing up in California, we used to do this all the time as a kid. I don't think mine ever grew into a tree. But my mom's did once, it was pretty awesome.
