HOW TO USE TWITTER TO CONNECT FELLOW BLOGGERS

I've been asked this multiple times, or well - as many times that I decided to dedicate a complete blog post for this one. I started my Twitter account from scratch in February 2017 and in a year I've managed to grow it from 0 to almost 2,5k. It's not a lot for someone, but it's a lot for me. I know I could have more impressive numbers by now, but Twitter is something where you need to be basically 24/7 active, to get massive growth spurts and who really do have time for that? I'm happy as it is, though my end of the year goal for Twitter is 10k - I can make an update from this post if I manage to reach it.

Twitter is an amazing way to connect with your fellow bloggers, and I'm here to tell you how you can do that. The blogging community in Twitter is a bit explosive at times (with all the dramas going around, but it's better for everyone not to get involved in whatever drama there's going at the time) but it's also one of the most amazing communities I've been part of. It's the place where I've found so many amazing people, like my birthday twin Melissa (@AnxiousCanuck) from Canada & many people from the UK I'm lucky enough to call my Internet buddies. Like Nadia (@MielandMint)Sarah (@JustButtons__) and Maisie (@lovemaisieblog). Ah, I wish I could tag them all but we would be here until next year for that haha!

FOLLOW SOME LIKEMINDED PEOPLE...
Lifestyle blogger, like I am, as a term is a pretty wide range of people. There are so many lifestyle blogs in the blogosphere concentrating in different aspects of the lifestyle so that there would be something to chat with these people - you kind of want to have something in common with them. I follow a lot of mums on Twitter and other lifestyle bloggers. Also, a few dad's that I've found, which is pretty cool. There are surprisingly many male bloggers around which is absolutely fantastic.

AND CHAT WITH THEM.
Go on, reply to their tweets. Chat with them, engage.

ENGAGE
Engaging is one of the key things on Twitter. As a micro post platform, everything goes pretty fast by so no one will see all of your tweets & you don't see every single tweet that goes on your feed. When you engage with different people, they'll know you exist.

FIND TWITTER CHATS
There are a bunch of Twitter chats held on Twitter. If you don't know what a Twitter chat is, it's basically a conversation going on over the hashtag feed. Let's have an example; lovely Jemma used to host #TheGirlGang chat on Mondays over at Twitter. She usually had a theme, asked questions and then everyone answered them & chatted with each other via using the hashtag. Including hashtag is crucial, especially when you're not able to check your notifications all the time (if you're chatting on your phone) & that your tweets will show up in the conversation.

Some active chats I know (times are in the UK timezone):

MONDAY
5pm - #TeacupClub
5pm - #beechat
8pm - #BDIB
9pm - #SassyBloggers

TUESDAY
7pm - #BloggersNightIn (this is more like a comment thread type of a thing)
9pm - #GrlPowr

WEDNESDAY
7pm - #lbloggers (lifestyleblogger chat)
8pm - #bbloggers (beautyblogger chat)

SUNDAY
8pm - #BlogosphereChat
9pm - #GrlPowr

Join in & have fun!

DON'T FOLLOW FOR A FOLLOW
Follow accounts that you're interested in. Follow/unfollow game is something that should be left back in 2017, it's not cool.

DON'T AUTO DM
Auto DM's are the most annoying thing on the planet. Period.

I don't know, did I miss something? Well, this is good enough to get you started. Go on, tweet your heart out! See you on Twitter.

  8. I'm only part of one Twitter chat at the moment and I needed to join so I really appreciate the list you've given in this post, which was a very good read. Straightforward tips that people can easily follow (pun unintended) if they put their minds to it.
