5 WAYS I’M TRYING TO PRACTISE SELF-CARE THIS MONTH

Okay, the first of all - I've been shit with maintaining any kind of a self-care routine for months. I used to be pretty good at it but after life and other things happened back in 2017, like a baby and the surgery I've fallen off the track. I'm here today sharing my five ways to get back on track.

YOUTUBE YOGA
Yes, you heard right. I'm shit at leaving the apartment. Whether it was a coffee with a friend or a walk outside, I'm shit at it. A few people on Twitter recommended me Yoga With Adriene and that's what I've stuck to. It's damn amazing that someone is willing to put something that amazing out there for free for all of us to watch and learn. I've been doing this since the beginning of the February and already feel so much better.

MEDITATING
When D is on his morning nap, I'm using that time for meditating. I want to declutter my mind which has been going on a bit too fast rounds lately and I was really hoping it would help for the sleeping issues I've had lately and as a matter of fact, it does!

ANNUAL PAMPERING EVENINGS
Two times a month, on Thursdays I'm going to do my homemade feet spa - thingy (which I'm going to share with you a bit later!) and I'm going to add there a face mask or something. Why Thursdays? There's a new episode of Riverdale on Thursdays, that's why haha!

MOOD JOURNAL
Each day, I'm going to write down some feelings I've felt during that day and why. Then I can focus on my mood swings, which I'm pretty sure are because of my birth control pills, but anyhow, I thought it would be fun.

GO OUTSIDE
As I said, I've been struggling with leaving the apartment. So I made a deal with the hubby that he'll drag me out of the house at least twice a week before I lose my shit.

Are you trying to focus on self-care this month? What's in your plan?

  1. Baths, long walks in the park and reading through the huge pile of Finnish magazines. In Finland I love walking in the forest, its the best meditation for me.

  3. All the tips look promising! I want to try the yoga at home, I don't like going to gym or to the class too. As for the pampering, it's the easiest way to find some me time and to enjoy bath, masks, etc. Don't forget to go out, 1-2 times every week will make you instantly feel better.

  6. Yay for having a plan and sticking to it! I'm sure all of these things will help you to feel happier, healthier, and more looked after. I'm OBSESSED with Yoga with Adriene. She is AMAZING and such a calming and helpful presence to incorporate into your life. I did her 30 day challenge in January and actually cried during Day 30 video because I was just so overcome with emotion. Anyways, sending you a big hug to kick off your February self-care journey. :) <3

  11. These are really practical and easy to keep up with! I do a little bit of breathing concentration thingy, lately have been keeping a mood journal and guess what I have a little foot spa thingy myself hehe which I do every week to kinda relax my whole body. I go out of house less too because I work on my laptop for an entire day and I am really trying to go for atleast short trips in my city so as to get out of my house! Like always, love your writing style <3
