HOMEMADE FEET SPA & DIY FEET SCRUB

Want to go to the spa but can't quite afford? This is definitely for you then. I love to do this at least once a month (except that I've been pretty awful at taking care of myself lately) and it's a great way to wind off for a little while. Take a small break and enjoy the slow living for once in a while. And trust me, you feel amazing after it!

You can also add some body lotion to the list of the things you need if you want to!

So, how to begin?

The first step - Make the feet scrub and put everything ready. Light up some candles & place the bath towel on the floor in front of the sofa. Once you've carried the bowl filled with water on top of the towel, you can sit down, relax, hit the play button of your favourite series and put your feet in the water bowl.

The second step - After you've soaked your feet in a bowl for a little while, you can take out the scrub. You might want to dry your feet with the hand towel a little before adding the scrub. At this point, you can give yourself a proper foot massage - you've deserved it!

The third step - Soak your feet in the bowl for a little more and wash off the scrub in the bowl. Once you feel you are finished you can dry your feet with the hand towel and moisturise them with the body lotion. I always put my socks on after this, I don't know why - it feels so much better in my opinion haha!

For me, this was something I did before the baby every other week, then after getting a bit too pregnant it reduced into once a month and now I haven't had time to do this at all. Actually, I haven't had time to take care of myself at all. It's easy to blame it on the baby but I don't think I'm in a position to do so. He doesn't keep me up at night, he goes early in the bed and if I'm completely honest here - I would have had a chance to do this multiple times during the past year. It's just that I've completely forgotten - no I've neglected myself. It shouldn't be like that. It's going to change and I'm more than excited to take my homemade feet spa back in the calendar after a really, really long time.

I might even add a face mask to the combo.

What do you think, is this something you could try? How do you practise self-care?

  3. Yes please - I will try that homemade scrub tonight! Great idea to use the bath bombs for the footbath as well, I gave my bath bombs away when we moved to this flat without a bathtub. Now I can make a trip to Lush again for the sake of my feet!

  4. This is totally something I would try! And I love that it's something that I can do passively while also watching a TV show I love. One of my favorite self-care routines is doing face masks but these take less time (and require more attention) so they're not as well suited to just sitting in a chair and chillin'.

  5. I love this. I practice selfcare by having a lovely brunch or having champagne somewhere and just having a lovely conversation. I love to laugh and just relax. That is my selfcare.

  6. I love making my own body scrubs my favourite at the moment being a coffee scrub: coconut oil, brown sugar and coffee grounds. Perfect pick me up :-)

  8. That's a fantastic idea, especially this feet scrub looks like is doing a great work. I pamper my self once every week and recently found some gorgeous feet mask at Sephora. (I ll have a post about my pamper and the products I use very soon)

  16. Ooh, I used to use oats in face masks, so exfoliating, but not too harsh. Will definitely try it for a foot scrub!
