OUR LIVING ROOM | BEFORE & AFTER

So guys, last November we bought an apartment. We renovated it before Christmas so I decided to do this different kind of new home tour in a few parts, by showing you what we actually renovated there. So I'll be going through a room to room in different posts. At first, we're going to see the new living room.

So this is how it was before. We had this brown-ish, (what colour is that?) laminate floor which was something I decided at the very first second that we'll have to change. The best part is, J was on board with me all the renovation plans as long as he can pick the plugs to our walls. He's so into electronics it's ridiculous. Anyhow, we came up with a beautiful white laminate floor. It's beautiful and insanely family friendly, as no stain will show up in it (sarcasm).
The walls were in good shape, so I didn't have to do any painting there.

Here's how the living room looks like now. It's still a work in progress but we don't have a hurry to do things. I've got this project to print out some pictures to our walls, as now we are finally able to put something on the walls without asking anyone's permission about anything. I'm thinking about a little gallery wall, but we'll see where I end up. Going to play with some photoshop before and see how they would look and in which order.
Also, I want to buy the colourful abstract painting on that wall next to our desk. Not too colourful, but in a good taste colourful. Also, it needs to be big. But then again, I could paint it myself? It has been such a long time since I painted something on canvas. We'll see, we'll see. Maybe it comes to me when I least expect it.

So, what do you think about our new living room?
And yes, I've got some curtains on my shopping list.

  2. Your new living room looks very big and nice. I love the wooden floor. Anyhow, the room needs something like curtains or paintings to cover the walls. After adding those this will sure look great. I love the Scandinavian simplicity you have in your home.

  14. Congratulations on buying an apartment.that's a really big thing as most people (even me) rent for a major part of their lives. I love what you've done with your living room, it looks very cosy and bright. The beauty of white paint. I'm thinking of painting my room white but I get scared of the stains. How do you maintain it?
