5 WAYS TO BRING CHRISTMAS TO YOUR HOME

It's ridiculous that I'm writing this post. At the moment I'm looking at the huge pile of moving boxes next to me. There is a shitload of moving boxes everywhere. Would they look better if I added some fairy lights and a jolly good Christmas decorations around them and put on some Christmas songs?
Anyhow, I'm not here to moan about our moving boxes, not that they wouldn't suck a little bit of inspiration out of me at the times but I'm here to chat about the ways to bring Christmas in your own home! Okay, even now I'm starting to realise how ridiculous that sounds, coming from me and in my situation. I just hope I'll have enough time to get the tree up after we've changed the floors & painted our new apartment.

Not to be obvious or anything, I found all these pictures below from Pinterest as the alternative option would have been to take pictures of cardboard boxes with Christmas decorations on them. (I'm so funny, oh my goodness.)

GARLANDS
Gosh, I really want to try this next year in our own apartment. I absolutely love this idea, fairy lights & garlands make things look so cosy and festive. I've actually got a few spots I could put these. Argh, can't wait for next Christmas. And hey, D will be a bit older to leave these beauties alone next year!

THE CHRISTMAS TREE
I must be weird for not wanting a real tree in my house. It's the picking up, needles everywhere, and tossing it out after Christmas. We have gone with a green fake tree for multiple years now but for some reason, something new and different wouldn't be bad either. Like this beauty which is perfect for a smaller apartment! Though I think we're going to be going with our old habits - this alternative Christmas tree could be worth to try out one year!

DRIED ORANGES
It took me a while to warm up for the idea of dried oranges. Now when I'm thinking about it, I'm sure as hell giving these a go this Christmas. Don't know what's in them that made me like them eventually, but now they seem to scream Christmas to me.
Sarah does have a wonderful DIY for dried orange Christmas decorations over here!

CHRISTMASSY CUSHIONS & FAIRY LIGHTS
You know I can't go through a Christmas post without mentioning the fairy lights, ehe. Also, H&M and others are doing such beautiful Christmas cushions.

What do you think? How do you bring Christmas to your home? I'd love to hear.
Also, I honestly can't wait to get at full speed Christmas mood and I sure do hope we'll get the move and renovation sorted out of the way before Christmas. Wish us luck! x

  1. Lovely ideas and inspiration photos, Jasmin! For me it's been always the three, candles and some Christmas flowers that will bring the Christmas in. Also, the scent of spices, glogg and bakings is a great way to get into Christmas mood. :)

  7. I agree, the alternative tree looks wonderful, but I, just like you, am still sticking with the oldie but a goodie.

I think a nice way to bring Christmas spirit in your home are the scented handles and homemade gingerbread cookies.

  16. I love the alternative Christmas tree! Just showed the photo from your article to my boyfriend and we agreed to try it next year! :) Living abroad, far away from friends and family, it's sometimes hard to get into a Christmas mood. Scented candles, the smell of baking cookies and small decorated branches of pine trees are my go to's.
