A DAY THROUGH THE EYES OF DINO

07:15 - Damn I'm hungry, where's mum? What if I make some noises, will she know I'm awake? "Blaablaa". "BA!" She doesn't seem to listen, does she have something better to do right this very moment? There's something in my diaper and it's not feeling very comfortable. It smells weird. Maybe I should yell a little bit louder. "BAA. BA. BABA." Still nothing. What if I scream? "BYÄÄÄH!" Hey, now I hear something.

07:20 - "Good morning!" Ah, that's mum. I'm so happy to see her. Although, she left me here by myself for at least 100 years of time. Maybe if I laugh at her a little. Yikes, she's lifting me up now and she has not a clue what's in my diaper.

07:25 - Mum says I smell bad. I laugh at her, maybe if I'll just pretend that I've got no clue what she's talking about and won't see that I already know what's in there.

07:35 - Finally, fresh diaper and a bottle in my mouth. I always get super excited when I see the bottle. Warm, sweet, delicious bottle. Yummy.

07:40 - Nawh, mum is trying to change my clothes. Doesn't that woman realise that I've just woken up, I had a rather tough morning trying to fit in the sink and I've just eaten and now we need to switch on to our day clothes? If you ask me, I'd spend the whole day in my pj's. I don't like this at all, it's outrageous - why she doesn't ask my opinion?

8:00 - Now she's lifting me again. We had so much fun playing with a pillow just a few seconds ago. Where is she taking me now? Ooh, that's me in the mirror. Mum tells me what a handsome young man I am. I am, super handsome. YAY, we're in the living room. This is where all my toys are. Mum puts me on the floor, gives me my milk bottle teether and tells that she needs to make some coffee. I don't know what this coffee is but it sounds fabulous, mum seems to be so much happier with it.

8:15 - Mum is sitting on the sofa and watching me play. She doesn't notice that I'm looking at her as she's trying to make that box alive. The one that has talking dogs in it and this doctor who heals stuffed animals. Makes me wonder if mum took Mr.Walrus there as I haven't seen him for a really long time.

8:30 - Mum has finished the dark liquid she drank from the blue Moomin mug. Moomins, those scary creatures. Oh no, she's lifting me up again. Where are we going?

8:35 - I'm sitting in my chair and mum is trying to put a spoon in my mouth. She calls it a breakfast and tells me how it's super important. We're having something new today, I don't remember this taste but it tastes good so I'm just eating it. I don't think that mum does mind that there's a little bit on my sleeves, all over my mouth and most of the stuff fell on the floor. This magical cleaning lady comes around every day and the food I give her on the floor seems to disappear. She must be super hungry.

9:00 - Oh, mum is putting more clothes on me. But why? Why would she do that when she knows I hate it a lot. I hate getting clothes on, I'd rather be naked.

9:10 - This box that switches floors and leads us to outside goes super fast. In a blink of an eye, we're already there where we can get out of the building. No way, we're going out. There's going to be trees out there. I love trees.

9:20 - My eyes are starting to feel a bit heavy. But what about all these trees? I might be falling asleep any minute.

10:20 - How did we end up home? How am I still in the cot? Does mum know I'm here? "BABA." Hey, wait, that noise is familiar. Oh, is it? Could it be? Milk? "PING." Yay, mum is picking me up! Where we're going to? Oh my, we're going to lay on their bed. I can see the bottle but I can't reach for it. Mum is changing my diaper.

10:25 - Ah, that warm fuzzy feeling that comes after dinner. My eyes are starting to feel heavy again. Mum puts my fresh burp cloth a bit closer to my face, yes, I'm closing my eyes now.

11:30 - What's the time, what's the year? Did I fall asleep again? Where's mum? "BABA." She didn't hear me, I can hear her in the kitchen though. "BABAA." If I'd scream... No wait, she's here. Oh, I'm so happy to see her. She's picking me up again and placing me on my chair where she feeds me. Oh, this is better be good.

11:45 - That cleaning lady on the kitchen floor is quite hungry again. Why does she eat so much? Oh again, they all disappeared.

12:00 - YAY, play time! Mummy opens the box again. The one that has moving pictures and I've found all my toys from the floor. Oh, my goodness, so many toys. Mum tells me she's going to load the laundry machine and then she'll come and play with me.

12:10 - We're playing together. It's so much fun. Where's daddy? I haven't seen him for a while. Last night was the last time I saw him.

13:00 - Oh, mum is making me a bottle again. YUM, I can't wait. I'm way too excited and I don't know, a bit annoyed. *yawn*. Mum is picking me up and takes me to her bed. Yes, a bottle. Yum. I'm starting to feel a bit tired again.

14:45 - Wow, I closed my eyes for so short amount of time. Where's mum? Oh, she's right there next to me. She's still sleeping. What if I pull from her hair a little? Would she wake up? "BABA."

15:00 - We're back in the room where all my toys are. Mum has changed my diaper like million times today and I don't like the whole dressing off and dressing up process. Why does it have to happen so often? I'd rather be naked. We're playing together again. This is so much fun.

15:20 - YAY, daddy is home! Where have you been? Where do you go each day?

16:00 - Daddy is making the milk bottle for me, mum said she had some blogging to do. Who knows what that means? She's going around in our apartment with a camera and she's using that thing that looks like a book. Each time she hits it makes funny tapping noises. I think that's what they call blogging.

17:00 - Mum says she's finished for the day. Phew, feels like she's been gone for hours. Or even more. I'm starting to feel a bit tired but mum says I can't go to sleep now because bedtime is getting closer. You adults and your bedtimes. We're playing altogether. Mum, Dad and Me.

18:15 - Once again I'm placed next to the dining table. Oh, is this what I think it is? It's porridge! That lady on the floor is quite hungry again.

18:30 - Bath time! This is my favourite part of the day. Daddy usually takes me to bath and puts me to bed. I can go to sleep soon, I'm super tired.

19:00 - Last bottle of the day. My eyes are starting to feel heavy...

I thought it would be fun to share a day through the eyes of Dino. This was our usual day when he was six months old, sometimes he doesn't fall asleep during our little walk and then we're stopping by at the park that's close to us. Swing is his favourite. Also, I've got no clue what's going inside of his head so those aren't his real thoughts but by the way he looks at the times and this half year experience I can pretty much tell how he's feeling.

  3. It was funny and I can imagine how amused will be Dino when he'll be able to read his mummy's blog. Your post remembered me of the movie Look who's talking with John Travolta and Kirstie Alley playing the parents of a funny toddler Mikey.
