7 REASONS TO VISIT FINLAND

Finland is having its 100th birthday this year and that means that I made a promise to myself to include some blog posts about Finland. Finland is a country I'm calling my home, even though there are decisions made by the government that most of us don't enjoy but after all, we've got everything super well here.

LAPLAND & THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Lapland is gorgeous during the Winter. A bunch of snow and if it's cold enough you'll most likely see the Northern Lights. Also, I don't care what you've been told but Santa Claus is originally from Lapland and if you wander far enough you'll end up to his house and you'll be able to meet him.

THE NATURE
I love Finnish nature. The land of the thousands of lakes. That name actually is pretty accurate as we do have 187 888 lakes. 10% of Finland consists of lakes. That's something to think about.

OLD VILLAGES
Finland is filled with old villages and that's pretty awesome. They're also super beautiful with their old architecture and with the fact that they haven't been turned into cities. 50km away from Helsinki and you can feel the countryside calling for you.

THE PEOPLE
Finns are nice, mostly. Of course, there are plenty of those who believe every single person from somewhere else is going to steal their jobs, women and money but aren't those everywhere? I have a love-hate relationship with my fellow Finns. I like them when I'm not talking to them. But for tourists, they're pretty nice people. Oh, and in the cities, you don't have to chat with your neighbours if you don't want to do so. I like having neighbours but I don't like to speak with them.

A NUMBER OF MUSEUMS
History, art or whatever you enjoy - there will be a museum for that. Just google and you'll see.

THE WINTER
Two words - Lapland & Winter. There are igloos you can stay for the nights, a shitload of snow and reindeers. It's a winter wonderland.

Have you ever considered visiting Finland?

    1. Hmm.... :D
Winters are cold AF, but beautiful as hell.
      Spring is super rainy.
There are two weeks in Summer when here's actually warm and it's usually in July.
And Autumn, it's beautiful but really the change from Summer to Winter happens in a blink of an eye.
