7 MONTHS | DINO

I could start this update by telling you how freaking fast the time flies but I'm going to leave the thought hanging there. It's just insane that my little bubba is 7 months already. Or well, today he'll be 7 months and 1 day but who's counting days? Me. For Christmas. 88 days, if you were wondering.

Fucking hell that kid is going to places! Which means he's crawling now and oh boy, he crawls fast. He learned it properly last week, which is pretty well for his age and oh boy. This last week I've spent basically running after him. He knocked one of our guitars over, tries to stand up against our TV stand and carry toys in his mouth at the same time he's going forward. Sometimes I wonder was it a baby or a puppy that came out of me.

He also lifts himself up to his hands and knees and waves himself forward and backwards. That looks so funny. I've been trying to show him how to move faster on your knees that crawling your stomach on the floor. He knows how to move his legs but he doesn't quite understand how to move his hands at the same time.

This all is so much fun to watch, to be honest. He's learning so fast and he's eager to learn new things each day. Just yesterday he started his own yoga, here at home, and started lifting himself up in Adho Mukwa Swanasana (downward-facing dog). It's insane, as he wants to learn how to stand but he doesn't know how to sit independently yet. Like, can you please learn one thing properly and then move to the next one? Wouldn't that be cool? But nah, he's busy leaving things in the middle and starting to learn new things. I'm pretty sure we'll have an early walker in this apartment.

Now we have an actual permission from our nurse to teach him to sit. His back wasn't ready last time we visited (our 6-month check up) and she said that she'll start putting him to his feeding chair in a month or so. We have practised sitting in a feeding chair for short times and he's doing so well with it. And he eats better whilst sitting on the table. His spoon strike is finally over. At least for now.

Last month, D woke us up twice a night due to teething and now we've survived waking up only once a night. Some days are better, some are worse and some nights he even sleeps through. But it's not something you can yet expect when going to bed on the evening, a good night sleep.
It's understandable as babies generally start sleeping through whenever they want, so we don't want to pressure him to do so. We'll wake up when he does.

D has found his voice. Oh, boy, has he found it? He yells at everything. Toys, guinea pigs, you name it. And he enjoys it. He has to be the loudest person in the room. When J and I are talking about adults stuff "ignoring" him he talks louder. Keeps louder noises. His business has to be more important than anything else. It's so funny.

I told you in my previous update that D has had the most changes back then, I'd say that this month has been another one that I've seen the most of the changes. He grows up so insanely fast. Already moving around, demanding, even more, attention, yelling at toys and guinea pigs. He's extremely interested in guinea pigs and we have to go see them at least twice a day. If they're out of their cage D goes nuts, as I'm pretty sure he's afraid of them some way. He's such a charming young man and I can't wrap my head around the fact that he's not a baby anymore. In his own way.

  3. It's pretty amazing to observe a baby growing up... how we take for granted some skills that actually took us a lot of time to acquire. Congrats, Dino!

  11. They grow up way too quickly don't they? And I can sympathize with them trying to learn everything all at the same time and not necessarily learning everything well. Ah well.

  12. My son turned 7 months this month as well and I can't believe how quickly time flies. He is already crawling around the house, can stand up on his own if holding onto something and talks non-stop! He just started clapping his hands together too and love all the tickles. Babies are just the sweetest, and your little man is adorable!
