5 MONTHS | DINO

When this blog post will be published and D's 5th-month update will be live and able to be read we're happily on a ship heading back to Finland. This past week in Sweden has been wonderful, but I'll get back to that later in another post.

So, D is five months old today. Holy crap time has flown fast by! Next month he'll be six months already. It's insane. In the 4th-month update, I told how D had moved from clothing size 62 to 68. Well, this little potato has grown so much that size 74 fits perfectly. Or well, they're still a bit baggy but in a couple of weeks I believe, they'll be like a nose in his head. It's incredible how fast they grow, you always have to be buying new clothes.

We have found our toes and he puts them in his mouth all the time. Most of the time he spends on the floor laying on his side and licking his toes. I wish I was still that flexible. It's adorable though. He still hasn't managed to turn from his back to his front but he's so close! Actually, last time we visited the nurse over at the maternity clinic (6th of July) the nurse said that she would not be surprised if Dino was crawling next time we visit there. Well, D's got a deadline for that next Thursday when we have an appointment there. I don't personally think he'll start crawling yet but who knows, they're full of surprises. He's trying so badly though!

On the social note, D is incredibly social. He doesn't cry if he's not hungry or his inner milk bottle haven't fallen upside down. He just laughs and talks in his baby language. It's freaking adorable. And now when he spends most of the time awake during the day and on our little road trip we've been he's chatting all the time. It's fun to listen that blabbing from the back of the car.

We have also started tasting different foods. Nothing tremendous yet but little something. I didn't want to get on the full-speed tasting before we arrive home from our trip so I decided that we'll begin to taste things properly when we're home and there's not an extra fuzz around. Long story short, my mum bought some baby food from the food market and made D to taste some. I did not and I still don't agree with her decision but if I've learned something about her she does what she wants and doesn't listen to anyone else no matter how much I dislike it. It's pointless to argue with her because she thinks she knows better by an experience from 3 kids. Yeah, she might but D is still my kid and I think she should respect my decisions as a mum.

On the positive note, D has been sleeping super well. He doesn't wake up at night anymore, or well - he might, sometimes but then usually pacifier is enough for him. He goes to bed between 7 and 9 on the evening and wakes up between 6-9 in the morning. Damn, I love that kid to pieces. I had already forgotten how good it feels to sleep.

Teething is also on a full swing and that baby chews everything. Oh my goodness, and with a feeling! It's so fun to look at. Also, when trying his gums you can feel a small sharp thing in there so I guess we'll have our first tooth in a couple of months!

Time just seems to fly by and D is not a baby anymore. Or well, he is but he isn't you know.

  12. So cute. It's funny how grandparents think they know better on somethings. It's fine to advise, but they should respect our wishes, my mum is the same.
