BLOGGING WITH A BABY

I don't know how I've done it, but I've done it. I've managed to stay on top of the things at the home with the baby and with the blog. Each time I write my to monthly blogging goals; "get something up". Why do I do so when I know I'm going to keep up with the schedule of posting 4 times a week?
Well, you'll never know what happens. Maybe someday that one faithful day arrives and I don't have anything to publish at 8:00 am.

Apparently, I've been pretty good at this whole blogging with a baby thing.

I've always been a super organised person, not neat, just organised. I mean, basically, everything in my head is in order but my apartment is mostly a mess. It's a creative mess, as I like to call it. I've also been always that person who can do stuff if her mind is up to it no matter how tired she is. So if I have a deadline, I more likely get it done in time. That's why I scheduled my days back in the day I started my maternity leave. It was the only way I was able to get anything done.

So basically my ability to organise is the reason why this blog is still going. Oh, and my husband. He's also one of the reasons. And D, D is such a good sleeper so each time he's taking his nap I'm able to clean around and well, do blogging things. Dino is actually sleeping next to me at this very moment when I'm writing this. Also, this post was written a couple of weeks ago. Funny, isn't it?

So how does my husband make me able to do blogging stuff?
He spends time with D. If I say that I've got pictures to take, he's more than happy to look after D while I take pictures, edit them and schedule blog posts.
There are also days when I don't need to ask for it, he suggests it. I guess it's all about that "mum needs her time too" and blogging sure is my own little time. My husband is the best.

Of course, there are days when everything feels impossible. Everyone has their bad days. Me, Dino and J. That's when I don't do anything. For me, there have been a couple of bad days lately but hey, you can't have the sunshine without a little rain, right?

Anyhow, blogging with a baby is possible. If you set your mind to it.
I was sure from the beginning that I was going to need some time of my own and before D was even born we talked about this with my husband. So basically it's all about communication that has made this able to me. And it goes both ways, J lets me blog & I let him play Rocket League or whatever he might be playing on the Playstation at the moment. He needs his time too.

  1. I agree that planning and scheduling is vital to keeping on top of things when you have a baby. It takes the pressure off and means you can take a night off if you want to! So lovely that your husband is supportive as well, it really does make all the difference to have someone telling you to take some time out for you! Congratulations on keeping all the plates spinning! x

  5. Hi Jasmin, it is hard to be organised with a blog, I'm a bit erratic and post whenever the mood/inspiration comes to me, life with a baby is busy and you also want to make sure you enjoy it and life does slow down a bit. I think a lot of us find this aspect hard, we are so used to rushing ab It the place, it takes some adjustment, I think when mine were very little I was a bit tough on myself to still get a lot done, I wish I had kicked back a bit but then hindsight is a wonderful thing...

  9. Well done on managing to find time to blog! It's so hard sometimes to find the time, I know I struggle with my three, especially once Benjamin came along and he required more attention than I was used to with the older two. I think it's important though, like you say, to take a little time out for yourself and enjoy writing and taking photos x

  15. I do try to be organised, I even bought a blog planner to help but it's never been used. I don't have a baby but work full time so do struggle at times to keep on top of everything, you are so right though that scheduling is the key to keep blogging on time. Your husband is a keeper helping out & letting you have some blogging time to take photos, etc as that is a time consuming task :).

  18. I agree with everything. I don't have a baby but for me something that makes blogging a bit harder is my commitment to university, I got to go to classes, prepare exams and papers.. But you can do anything if you set your mind to it, and you're definitely an inspiration!
