ONLY FEW MORE WEEKS TO GO | 37 WEEKS PREGNANT

OKAY, PEOPLE, WE HAVE A FULL-TERM BABY HERE.
Still inside, though. Which, of course, is a good thing, but I kind of you know, want it out already.

We have reached the milestone of being 37 weeks pregnant, which basically means that the baby is fully cooked and ready to come out. You know, technically. If he doesn't want to come out yet my due date is in three weeks. I hope his highness makes an appearance before that.

It's been two weeks since my last pregnancy update? What has changed? Absolutely nothing.
Or well, during this past couple of weeks there has been some progress in the way or another; meaning - I thought this post wouldn't go live today.
Last Saturday and yesterday morning, I've had some painful but still pretty mild contractions. They're irregular, but it's something that I haven't felt before. And trust me, this has been a painful journey. I believe that my labour is pretty close, don't know why, but I'm feeling it. *Knocks on the wood*.

I don't think this will be my last pregnancy update post, but I've decided not to share anymore bump pictures after the week 35. Just simply because of the fact that I don't see any dramatic changes in my own belly anymore. It has stayed the same size these past few weeks haha!
Then again, I wanted to share them all in one post because that change from the beginning is so freaking huge! I've been looking at my old pictures and wondered - is that really me in that picture? I was so small.

WEIGHT GAIN DURING PREGNANCY

I've gained +7,5kg.
That's so incredibly weird! I mean, I have weighed this much last time when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and my medication and the lack of moving got me to that.
Although, I'm not disappointed at all. I think 8kg is pretty little to gain during pregnancy because I've heard that some people gain so much more when they're pregnant. So I'm in a pretty good situation in here. At first, I thought I was going to feel bad about gaining weight but I really don't. I thought it would have an effect to my self-esteem, but it really doesn't. I had so many predictions but here I am, nothing really bothers me. I'm extremely fine & I can't wait to get back in shape again!

THINKING ABOUT GIVING BIRTH

I'm still not scared at all. I'm cool as a cucumber. Honestly, I can't wait to get it over with. I have been trying to mentally prepare myself by reading birth stories from blogs, even the nasty ones, and I've googled different pain reliefs during labour. I've read almost everything about risks (this is like me preparing to travel by plane, even though I'm more afraid of flying than giving birth). I've been learning about contractions and how to breathe during them. Okay, for me - this is like preparing for an exam. I just casually suck all the information in before the big day and when I go there, I feel prepared. That's the point of the view I've taken to look at this thing. Like in exams, you've got no clue what to expect - in labour, you've got even less clue about what to expect. So no stress there, just preparing. Even though I'm not a fan of hospitals based on my previous experiences, I believe that everything is going to go just fine. I've got trust in Finnish education and health care, so I believe that they know what they're doing in there so there's no need to worry about that.

Ps. Week 37 & still no stretch marks! What is this sorcery?

  7. Oh wow, there really is huge differences in those last three pictures! 7.5kg is not very much, I mean the baby is like 3-4 kilos so you have only gained few kilos. All the best to your last weeks with the bump! :)
