Do you know the feeling when you're trying as hard as you can to find something, but you're not able to find it? I've been through Google so many times during these past months and I suddenly became to a realization that I wasn't able to find what I was looking for.
So what is it all about?
Hangers for baby clothing.
Of course, there's different types of them, wooden and ones that are made from plastic but I just wasn't able to find ones that would look appealing to my eye. I had a problem and I created a solution for it. I did them all by myself.
Now that I've been on maternity leave, I have been struggling with the fact that I've got nothing to do. Absolutely nothing. I'm the one that is used to wake up for work every single morning and go to do stuff, now I don't have any specific routines in my life anymore. So I've been filling my days with a bunch of DIY stuff.
So what did I do? I went to a craft store and found all that I needed for my little project. I bought 2 packets of 2.00mm aluminum wire (4,95€/each), a pack of pens and J brought me some wire cutters and pliers from his workplace.
Then I just casually shaped them like clothes hangers and I'm so happy with the result!
What do you think of these? Aren't they absolutely adorable?
Great work, girl! Love the hangers that you've made!

DeleteThat is the cutest (and cleverest) thing ever! I'd go bananas and spray paint them, but I always go a step further than is ever needed, lol.

DeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in Europe (Germany) with my own babies, it's so distinctly different in the U.S. We are very baby-friendly, whereas I found Germany to be the opposite. We even have baby-sized hangers in most stores. ;-0
It's so weird that these baby hangers aren't a thing in Europe :o
DeleteWOW! Thank you fro sharing. This is so creative
ReplyDeleteGlad that you liked it :D
DeleteSuch a cute idea! xo

DeleteI love DIY things! This is such a good idea as i bet baby clothes are so fiddly to hang up! Or they just get folded into a drawer! Great post thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteWith proper hangers it works out just fine haha :-) Happy to hear that you enjoyed the post!
DeleteWow, great work! Those hangers look so adorable and cute! I think it’s a great idea to make them not just for baby clothes, but for adults too! Thanks for sharing :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah those work with adults clothes too :-) just need to make a bigger ones :-)
DeleteI do know that feeling. It's so annoying to look for something and not being able to find it. You found a great solution here. Very creative. I love the idea!
ReplyDeleteHaha happy to hear that you enjoyed the post :-)
DeleteI love the rustic vibe to them. Would they work for adults clothes too? Also I need to now where you got the thing with the light bulb that the clothes are on. Thats wonderful too! Ree love30
ReplyDeleteYeah they would work :-) I just guess the wire should be a bit thicker for that purpose... or I don't know, maybe it works fine with 2.00mm wire too! Haven't really tried it out :D
DeleteThat lamp stand is from jotex.fi and the light bulb is from IKEA :-) the light bulb is just to make mood, not really that lightening :D but it's adorable!
Lovely tutorial! May I add that you can also wrapped this hangers with fabric to secure the sharp edges. Plus it will make hangers more cuter :)
ReplyDeleteActually, there's no sharp edges :D and of course, if you make your own you can decorate them the way you want :-) options are endless, it's just a matter of taste. For me, I like them just the way they are because I like to keep everything simple :-)
DeleteThat's so adorable. I will share this idea with my cousin she just had a baby :)
ReplyDeleteYAY, I hope she likes the idea :)
DeleteLove these and can't wait to make these for my own (one day!) I would love to see a step-by-guide on how to make them as I can see myself ruining them along the way :\ Do they take long to make? Xh

They're super simple to make, I went with a feeling when it came to shaping these - made one for the try & then I used it as a sample for others. As long as they look like hangers haha :-) umm, I did ~ 12 in total and it took me a couple of hours :-)
