10 REASONS WHY I LOVE CHRISTMAS | BLOGMAS DAY 4

As you might remember from my earlier Blogmas post this week, I promised to share with you 10 reasons why I love Christmas. I mean, Christmas is hectic and everyone is rushing around the city trying to find perfect gifts and preparing for the fact that the food markets are closed for the most part of the holidays. It's also important to keep calm and remember the reasons why you're going through all that hard work that makes Christmas Christmas.
So here we go, 10 reasons why I love Christmas.

#1 BEING TOGETHER WITH THE FAMILY

Whether it's being with my family or J's, I absolutely love the fact that families spend time together during the Holidays. Normal day schedule is so busy and everyone are minding their own business so it doesn't leave much time to hang out with the family outside of work hours or other activities. During the Christmas, this usually changes and you'll see your family enough for the next of the year.

#2 THE FOOD

Even though I'm not a fan of the Christmas food and you can find this from the reasons why I really don't like Christmas, it's still on the list of the reasons why I love Christmas. I absolutely love cooking, so preparing a dinner for that precious family is something I really enjoy doing. Even though I'm not enjoying the food, I enjoy cooking it. Does this make any sense? I don't know.

#3 FORGETTING THE WORLD

Christmas is one of that rare couple of days when you're allowed to forget everything. Just enjoy being together with your family and forget everything from the work and other shitty things that might be happening in your life at that moment. It's so refreshing and it sure does make you feel more prepared for that those non-special days after Holidays.

#4 GIFTS

Yeap, I love giving gifts. I usually make my gifts meaningful and with heart, because I don't want to give out something I feel like the receiver won't need or enjoy. I'm all about those sentimental gifts.

#5 WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING OR REALLY BE ANYWHERE

This is something I really enjoy about Christmas. You don't really have to do anything if you don't want to. It's a little vacation you can enjoy alone, or with your family, and just casually watch all those Christmas movies, eat as much as sweets as you want and the best part? You don't have to change those pajamas.

#6 ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER AT MY GRANDPA'S

My grandpa prepares annual Christmas dinner with his wife every single Christmas. We usually head out there on 26th of December to fill our stomachs with free food, to watch hockey and this is one of those moments when I'll get to see my uncle & cousins after a really long time. That's so much fun. Usually, we play Africa's Star or something else we used to play when we were kids and that's something I really look forward doing this year too.

#7 THE SMELL OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas has its own smell. I know that you know what I mean.

#8 HOT CHOCOLATE

I tend to drink hot chocolate during the Christmas more than usually. Wrapping up in my panda onesie drinking hot chocolate. Oh Christmas, could you be here already?

#9 SPOILING MY YOUNGER SIBLINGS

I promised to my little sister that I would give her 150€ from the semester if she acts like a human being at school. Then I also promised to give her 200€ if she can maintain that behavior for the full school year. It appears to be, that in May 2017 I'll be having 350€ less money.
Also, I'm going to buy her some Kylie Lip Kits from Kylie Cosmetics this Christmas. Everything is planned and now all I have to do is to get my hands on to my little brother's Christmas wish list so I can choose 3 items from there to buy him for this Christmas. I just like to spoil them. Cheez.

#10 THE FACT THAT I'VE LEARNED TO LOVE CHRISTMAS

I haven't always been a Christmas person. For the last 5 years I have, but pretty much before that, I used to hate Christmas. Thank goodness I do not hate it anymore.

  1. I love Christmas for all these reasons (well except for dinner at your grandpa's house;) ). Christmas is such a great holiday - i love spending time with my loved ones and eating all the delicious food. I love Christmas ham. One of my favourite things about Christmas is gift giving. I love gift shopping as I put thought into everyone's present. I love seeing someones face when they open their gift. This year is my daughters first Christmas. Next year, as she will be older, I will be starting a tradition of giving to the less fortunate. I want her to understand that it is important to give to others and that it's not all about receiving. I can't believe how close Christmas is. To be honest it's scaring me as I am so unorganised this year.

  5. These are similar reasons to why I love Christmas, spending time with your family and loved ones has to be the main reason but also the food. I don't really like turkey that much but love all the side dishes like pigs in blankets, stuffing, roast & croquette potatoes and gravy. Yum! It hasn't always been the way for me that I've had time off during Christmas as I've had to work Christmas Day on a couple of occasions but now I'm off it is so nice just to relax, watch Christmas films and spend time with people at a much slower pace.
