OUR FIRST ULTRASOUND EXPERIENCE

Hi there lovelies!

Today I wanted to share my very first ultrasound experience with you guys.
It was really something else. It wasn't my first ever ultrasound I've been to,
because having rheumatoid arthritis my knees have been examined with the
ultrasound plenty of times - it's definitely something else when it comes to
having ultrasound and the midwife is trying to find a baby through your stomach.

It's nothing like in movies. In movies it feels so chill and beautiful experience,
where the doctor or midwife just moves the ultra device gently above your
stomach and you can all see that miracle growing inside of you. It's nothing
like in movies. And yes, I felt the need to say it twice.
Midwife was kind of rough and it felt like she was trying to push the device
through my stomach. It's completely understandable - there's bunch of stuff
between the skin and my womb and she wants to see inside
to my womb if there's someone in there and there was.
It was the most amazing and the most surrealistic thing I've ever seen in these
past 21 years. There it was, 4,5cm long tiny version of a baby waving and
jumping around. It was so freaking pretty. That's my baby. Our baby. Our creation.
I'm pretty sure it has ADHD or maybe it was a bit too excited to be filmed haha,
but there it was. When we listened to it's heartbeat I wanted to burst into tears but
for some unknown reason between the happiness and confusion I kept myself together.
There's actually living human being inside of me and it grows a little a day by day.
Life is such a wonderful thing. I can't wait for the next ultrasound!

  1. Ah, this is such a precious moment! I remember getting my first ultrasound when I was pregnant.. It definitely was surreal. The best part is hearing the baby's heartbeat. I find it amazing that we could carry another human being inside of us. It's a special feeling that only us moms will understand. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
