5 BRIDAL FASHION TRENDS FOR 2016 | GUEST POST BY HANNAH

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah, and I'll be guest blogging for Jasmin! I am headed over at Floraful where I write about beauty/fashion/lifestyle/etc. Jasmin will be off to get hitched soon (Congrats Jasmin, and I really do wish for the best for you and your hubby-to-be!) and I too will be getting married on March 2017. With wedding season peaking between May–October in the U.S., I wanted to ring in the wedding bells and talk about the hottest bridal gown trends for 2016, traditional AND non-conventional!

1. CROP TOP:

Perfect for the low-key boho bride who could do without the trends and the frills, the crop-top-loving bride does not see herself as a princess in a ballroom, rather, a fairy among the flora and fauna. As brides are hosting their ceremony among nature, they want to be able to move comfortably yet still look fashion forward.

2. 3D PRINTED FLOWERS:

Flowers aren't just for holding or decor anymore. You can also get the illusion of having elements of flowers on your gown, giving it a more whimsical and girly feel. Opt for a few printed flowers carefully placed rather than all over the gown, which would be too overwhelming. Less is more.

3. PLUNGING BACK

You worked hard for a sexy upper body with those pushup and raises, why not show it off with this beautiful Maggie Sottero frock? It has a deep V-neck, but to balance out the front and the back, this gown has the flowy, modified A-line silhouette for a more elegant feel.

4. LONG-SLEEVES

Long-sleeved wedding dresses are hardly new, but they have been back on the market thanks to Kate Middleton, Kim Kardashian, and Nicky Hilton donning them. My dream dresses are actually off shoulder with lace sleeves, similar to the Toricela gown from Pronovias. In fact, I even wrote up a post about long sleeve wedding dresses here. That's how passionate I am about them. To me, sleeved-wedding dresses are a breath of fresh air from the strapless dress trend, and they are perfect for those who tend to dress on the more "modest side", are self-conscious about their arms, or want to stand out and look elegant.

5. ANYTHING BUT WHITE

Who says you have to have pure white? It does not flatter all skin tones anyway, and there are different shades of white: cream white, egg white, ivory, champagne, etc. But if you really, truly want to stand out and make a statement, you will loVe this light blush pink gown from BHLDN, the wedding dress line from Anthropologie.
