DIY: SPACE EGGS

With having Easter just around the corner I decided to paint some eggs after a really long time. It's been like 10 years since I've actually painted an Easter egg. Now I decided to take it to a whole new level and use nail polish marbling to get lovely space-a-like colours to our this years Easter eggs.


YOU'RE GOING TO NEED:

- eggs (obviously)
- water (~hand warm >37°C)
- nail polishes
- toothpicks
- paper
- I would also highly recommend 
you to use disposable gloves, 
my hands are basically purple now


HOW TO ROLL WITH IT?

1. Empty your eggs. 
2. Drop a little nail polish to the water, 
you must be quick because it dries 
super quickly.
3. Make a lovely pattern by using a toothpick and
drop the egg to the water. 
4. Pull egg out of the water and place it to 
dry to a paper. 


There you got a cute space themed Easter eggs, would you try this?

    1. Haha amazing to hear! Remember to use gloves so your hands won't get all over the nail polish - it's awful to remove :D

  4. Jasmin, this looks awesome, great idea. But I'm curious, do you think the color might be harmful to your health? There's a lot of nasty stuff in nail polish, isn't it? Maybe it's just for decoration purpose, I guess. :D
    Anyway, the look great and I hope your hands are back to the normal color ;)

    1. Hahahha, yea it's not healthy for anyone. That's why we emptied eggs before using the shells & why I said that wearing gloves is something that I highly recommend.

  6. I used to do aot of DIY decoration, but now I rarely have a time! I am glad I have done many before lol. But still the new ideas these days are better.

  8. Jasmin! I never thought about making the easter eggs look like the galaxies! Beautiful! i had seen this technique once. Actually, my male friend once swore that I would have the trendiest nails ever, and made me dip my fingers :P It was cool, in fact. I like the layout of your blog, and your photos!

  10. Those are cool looking! Reminds me when we used to use gold spray paint on eggs when I was a kid. You couldn't eat them, but they sure were pretty!

  15. This eggs are adorable! I assume b/c finger nail polish was used they aren't edible. I'd also be kinda worried about the fumes/kids playing in nail polish. Those things aside these eggs are awesome!
